N Medical Silicone Foley are designed for emptying the bladder of patients. This urology device can be used on patients before, during, or after the surgery depending on the situation. Foleys are designed to continuously drains urine from the bladder, preventing the patient's bladder from filling up. Silicone foleys uses state of the art 100% silicone material that is flexible, clear, and durable.
Foleys are indwelling UC, often referred to as an IDCs (sometimes IDUCs). N Med 3 way Foleys have three lumens. One lumen, opens at both ends, drains urine into a collection bag. The other has a valve on the outside end and connects to a balloon at the inside tip. The third lumen is used to infuse sterile saline or another irrigating solution. They are used primarily after surgery on the bladder or prostate, to wash away blood and blood clots. The balloon is inflated with sterile water or saline while inside the bladder to prevent it from slipping out.
